Tex-Mex Takeover: Family Night Out
Ditch the drive-thru and put down the tablets—it’s time to spice up family night! Join us for a high-energy, hands-on culinary adventure where your family becomes the kitchen crew. In this class, we’ll turn up the music and the flavor as we master the art of Tex-Mex classics.
We’ve designed this menu to get everyone involved: little chefs (ages 6-9) will love mashing, mixing, and assembling, while the older kids (ages 10-14) will learn essential knife skills and sautéing techniques. It’s the perfect way to bond, laugh, and enjoy a delicious meal that you made together from scratch. Come hungry and ready to fiesta!
The Menu
🥑 Holy Guacamole & Chips We start with the basics! Kids will learn how to safely pit an avocado and balance flavors with fresh lime, cilantro, and salt. It’s a mashing party that results in the perfect dip.
🌮 Sizzling Chicken Fajita Tacos The main event! We will teach the family how to slice peppers and onions (perfect for practicing knife safety) and sauté marinated chicken to juicy perfection. You’ll build your own soft tacos with all the fixings.
🌽 Mexican Street Corn Salad (Esquites) A fork-friendly twist on the street food classic. We’ll mix sweet corn with creamy lime sauce, crumbly Cotija cheese, and a dust of chili powder. It’s fun to mix and even better to eat.
🍫 Cinnamon Sugar Churro Bites No Tex-Mex night is complete without dessert! We’ll demonstrate how to make the dough and you can fry off warm, golden dough bites, toss them in plenty of cinnamon sugar, and serve them with a rich chocolate ganache for dipping.
