Celebrating Cinco De Mayo: A Mexican Feast

Get ready to shake, sear, and sauté! Join us at Mise en Place for a high-energy evening celebrating the bold, vibrant flavors of Mexico. This isn’t just a dinner; it’s a culinary fiesta where you’ll master the art of coastal appetizers and perfect steakhouse techniques. You’ll enjoy your dinner with a chef made fresh margarita!

The Festive Menu:

  • The Starter: Refreshing Shrimp Ceviche
    • Learn the “cold-cooking” method of marinating fresh shrimp in bright citrus juices. We’ll focus on knife skills as we dice crisp cucumbers, red onions, and jalapeños for a zesty, light start to our meal.
  • The Main: Sizzling Seared Skirt Steak with “The Works”
    • Master the perfect hard sear on a cast-iron skillet for juicy, tender skirt steak. You’ll create an fresh Pico and hand-mashed guacamole to build the ultimate plate.
  • The Side: Zesty Cilantro Lime Rice
    • A lesson in aromatics! We’ll steam fluffy long-grain rice and finish it with a burst of fresh-squeezed lime and finely chopped garden cilantro. (Chef Will make)
  • The Dessert: Dulce de Leche Cream Cups
    • We’re ending on a sweet note with silky cream cups swirled with rich, caramelized dulce de leche. You’ll learn how to balance the deep caramel flavors with a hint of sea salt and a touch of whipped cream.
       Chef’s Special:

Chef will be shaking up Signature Margaritas with fresh lime and agave to pair perfectly with your spicy and savory creations! Your meal will also include various topping f or your tacos including: Guacamole, Pico, crumbled cotija cheese, fresh lime wedges, Mexican creama and pickled red onion and radish

What To Expect: In our classes you’ll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

  • You will work with other students in groups of 4, sharing workstations and equipment.
  • Classes are 2 hours, unless otherwise noted above
  • Hands-on classes are limited to 12-16 students
  • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class
  • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back
  • We will serve water, soda or 2 glasses of wine with your meal (or margerita)

Mis En Place recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please check with Mis En Place Cooking Studio before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.
